Enquire about Remortgaging

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. There may be a fee for mortgage advice should there not be a procurement fee from the lender. The actual amount you pay will depend upon your circumstances and you will know in advance of the application.

Is there a better mortgage rate to be had?

Government and Bank of England enticements, base rate changes within the mortgage sector means the home loan market constantly changes and evolves.

As a result, there may be interest rates out there that are much lower than your current home loan rate, that you can switch to.

As soon as you’re on your new rate, you will notice a difference in your monthly mortgage payments. You will suddenly have more money for your summer holiday, house renovations or even a new car.

If the term or rates of your current mortgage deal is ending

Having a look at the market’s current available rates is something everyone should do regularly, especially before agreeing to switch to the next fixed/variable rate with your current mortgage provider.

Who knows, you could be missing out on some significant savings.

If you would like to know what rates are available to you, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Questioning when your current home loan deal ends, is remortgaging the best option

Why should I change my mortgage?

When taking out your mortgage initially, you may have got a really good deal. But as the mortgage market changes, new deals become available.

As a result, this could mean there might be a better mortgage deal available.

If this proves to be so, remortgaging could save you hundreds of pounds, and you may not necessarily have to change lenders.

Can I remortgage myself?

This is dependent on how confident you are in dealing with the legalities of finance contracts, as they are legally binding once signed.

Before opting for a particular remortgage, read the small print of the new and your existing mortgage checking for things like; arrangement or product fees and any early repayment charges from your existing lender.

These fees can add to the cost of remortgaging and might make remortgaging more expensive than staying on your current deal.

When should I look to remortgage?

You may be surprised to know that you can remortgage at any time. But if not at the end of your current fixed or discount rate term, early repayment charges might be charged.

For most people, the optimal time to consider remortgaging is when the end of the current fixed or discount rate term is reached. Once reached the current mortgage deal may more than likely revert to a standard variable rate.

How much could I save by remortgaging?

To be able to answer this, a number of factors should be taken into consideration, such as;

  • Determine what interest rate you can expect from a remortgage, according to the current market trends.
  • Would you wish to take additional equity from your home to give you cash for debt consolidation or other reasons?
  • What fees might be involved with remortgaging i.e. could costs outweigh savings, time or effort?
